Illogical ~ part three

Okay, I had to change POV to Jo's with the first scene. Couldn't get her dialogue right without doing that. So if it's a no-no, well just cringe, tell me, and move on... That and I didn plan on having it up yesterday, but I decided to edit it a bit more...

Criticize away.

Here it is...

Illogical Part Three.

Click. There was a brief moment before the slid open, but Jo didn't look. She didn't want to see what Miss. Haltbrook had told her that she would see. She didn't want to Alexsa, not now, not this way. She resisted the urge to wipe her tear away. That would only cause her more troubles... And she had had enough of those to last a life time...

“Jo?” Alexsa whispered, “Come on, we got to go, before they get here...”

“No, Alexsa,” Jo whispered fighting back the tears, “There's no way out of this hell hole.”

“You know there is,” Alexsa said rebuking her, as she hurried to kneel in front of Jo, “And I came here to offer it to you,” She started to pull something out of her back pocket, “But will you let me set you free?”

“Not for what it will cost you,” Jo answered staring back into her probing eyes, "I've caused you more then enough harm."

Alexsa grabbed Jo's hands with one of hers, “You have to. Other wise you're going to be their slave forever. That chip won't break down like you might be hoping it will. You do know that right ?” She asked unsure of her words. Jo just stared at Alexsa in horror.

“Yeah, though how'd you know about that?”

She sighed with relief, “You would never kill me, not the Jo that I know,” She muttered her hand felt something, “That and Anna told me about the thing in your head. The Demanded Obedience Chip- thing.” She looked to see what it was. Oh sweet Jesus, make her flee from these dust balls that call themselves humans!

“Anna?” Jo asked ignoring the what Alexsa had just found.

“Um, Yeah,” Alexsa pulled herself out of her confusion, “You should know her as Codename Apple's Worm. I prefer to call her Anna though.”

“I do to...” Jo muttered staring at her hand like Alexsa was.

“May I ask why are you missing a finger, Jo?” She asked, Jo's trigger finger was missing, there was just air there now.

“Because you're alive."

“I'm - I'm sorry, Jo,” She muttered staring, then a moment later, “Are you going to go now or later?”

“How do you know I'm going to leave? They didn't tell me I had to, and to let some one like you rot here...”

Alexsa just stared at her eyes pleading with her, but Jo looked away she held up Jo's injured hand, “Do you really need me to say?” Jo just stared at her, “And I do know the cost, Jo... I really do.”

A tear ran down Jo's cheek, and another tear soon mirrored on Alexsa cheek.

“Go now, Jo, run like the wind,” She shoved her phone into Jo's hands, “Hurry, and don't look back. This isn't a command, Jo, just my plea.”

Jo held the phone, weak in her hands, memories of Alexsa's love filled her mind, the little kid in mall lost and lonely, the beggar on the street, the widow right next door, the weeping children, and one question trembled on her lips, she forced it out, “Why?”

Alexsa just stared at her, hurt. Lonely.

“Run.”

And with that Alexsa stepped back against the wall, so that Jo could run away, run away from her life, from all that she knew, from the bad hand that life had given her. Just so Alexsa could have it instead.

She ran.

But she stopped in the hallway as the door closed behind her. She had heard a scream. Right when the door closed. It was Alexsa's. Jo pressed her ear against the wall and to listen, but she heard nothing.

The phone in her hands started to buzz, stirring her away from the door and into the vents.

As she closed the grate she answered the phone, “Alexsa? Where are you?” She heard the man on the other end yell immediately. Jo sat there a moment in shock.

Alexsa should be the one answering this... Not me.

“It's Josiah, sir,” She muttered, before hearing him sigh. Wither or not it was in relief she could not tell.

“Well then hurry! Get to the entrance, and don't dawdle! When you get there, call back me back, got it?” He said hurrying.

“Yep,” And then she hung up a moment after he did. Miss. Haltbrook would have STAB on high security alert now that she had Alexsa. She didn't want to lose either of them. Although she was willing to settle with Alexsa.

Jo crawled as fast she could, she knew the vents like the back of her hand, she would be out in no time.

~~~
Alexsa sat slumped against the wall, trying to recover from the electricity that had just coursed though her. Anna! Anna! Her mind screamed out over and over again, unsure of how the electricity might have effected her. She knew for sure though that she was pain.
After a moment Alexsa screamed, as the wall electrified its self again. As soon as it stopped, she crawled away from the wall, and just laid there in shock, twitching.
Swish. A door opened out of no where, and Alexsa looked up. She just stared at Miss. Haltbrook, who stood over her in haughty manner, “Welcome home, Apple's Worm,” She said she kneeled down, and whispered, “Please come out and play,” She leaned in closer to Alexsa's, “Other wise I kill the two of you now, slowly.” Alexsa ignored her, but she could slowly feel Anna taking over, she was causing Alexsa to pass out this time as well. Unless of course this is suspended death...
“Bye, Alexsa, I'm sorry...” And with that muttered Alexsa's eyes closed, and Anna took over completely. Miss. Haltbrook watched Alexsa's eyes turned to a darker green then ever before. Anna was home to play. She stood up and turned to face the wall. She nodded slightly.
“What do want with me?” Anna whispered waiting for Miss. Haltbrook's reply, “What do you want?!” She yelled after Miss. Haltbrook didn't turn to answer.
“You'll find out,” She growled, “But for now you need to rest and recover. I'll see you tonight at dinner. You should be able to find you're way around,” She finally turned back to Anna, “I'm going to send Philp to you though, this afternoon and he'll... set you up for our- service time with us,” She said, “I hope you do enjoy your stay with us.” And then she left with Anna watching.
Anna just laid there crying after Miss. Haltbrook left. What had she gotten into?
Hope you liked it...
Celery! Is so much cooler then your shoes! (But not your Flip- Flops...)
Okay, a friend of mine (Hi Icey!! *Waves*) is holding a contest on her website with her comic strip that she's a part of(*Points to the Celery~ It's cooler then your shoes in the blog roll* That one!), it's a fill in the captions contest.
And that -this my logic behind posting about it- can help stir those creative juices, that and they also have some really cool prizes as well. I mean if you only have 4 hours, give or take a little bit, before the deadline, that can really make you think! If even just a little bit! XD
Here's the link to it! Check it out! They need lots more entries!! (They're telling me they've only received one so far!! That's just wrong.)
Oh yes, and do to school stuff, Illogical part three should be up tomorrow.
EDIT: They've extended the context to the 25 of May.
Part Two
Friendly (As in not rude.) Criticism is welcome. (I forgot to say that last time... Or the time before that. So... yeah...)
But here's Part two of Three. (Stupid Characters...) It's much shorter, and I hope to have part three up tomorrow...
Illogical. Part Two.
Here, Anna said as she stopped at the grate, This should be it. And with that said, Anna gave Alexsa back control of her body. Alexsa flexed her fingers and tried to reach her nose with her tongue. She still couldn't reach. She stretched a little bit as she asked Anna the need to know question. So I just drop down and I'll see Jo?
No-
Figures.
Listen me and don't interrupt me again...
Got it. Alexsa answered as peered down the though the grate, she couldn't see anyone, Was everyone gone just to get Ricky? No way.
Good, you'll have to drop down, turn around, and get past the high grade security door and then you'll find Josiah.
What do you mean I'll find her, I won't have contact with you? She pushed on the grate, and it swung open, hitting the wall in the process, but still no one came. Alexsa started to get tingly.
Clever girl. You're right, I'll still be here of course, but the door blocks out all radio transmissions, and since I speak to you though a radio-
-in my ear-
You won't hear me.
Okay. So once I get down there I'll have no back up? No help.
Yes, Alexsa, this is your mission, your the genius the makes Einstein look like a college student... You can do it,
I know, Anna, it's just unnerving. Alexsa leaned out of the shaft to see what was under her. No guards in the hallway. They weren't a waiting for her in the hall. She stared at the door with the number pad on it. But was Jo really behind? Without another bullet? You sure only Jo's behind there?
No, I can't be, not absolutely anyways, but that's where the blueprints say her room- cage- is, and my own sensors tell me that's only a single living person behind there.
But your-
Yes, My sensors are still on the fritz, Anna sounded annoyed, really annoyed, about that fact, and Alexsa ignored the fact that it was her fault, so I can't even know for sure, that's true.
"Figures, but okay." Alexsa muttered. She took a deep breath, prepared herself, and then dropped to the ground. The buzz in her ear was gone, and she knew she was on her own.
She looked at the door with a sigh, "I'm so sorry Anna," She muttered looking at the number pad. Time to get to work...
Illogical ... Part One
Okay due to the length of Illogical (I thought it was going to be short simple and to point... But my Characters decided to have other plans... <_<) So I'm going to have to post it in (hopefully) two posts. It's a scene though, so it's not the complete story, but I do plan on posting more of this cast (in this situation/story) in the future... Not sure about order though...
Illogical - Part One
By BESM
Alexsa quietly sneaked out of the empty lab and into an empty corridor, Weird, STAB shouldn't be this empty, I'm not even seeing a camera.., she started to worry, but Anna just wondered about why they were even there, taking the greatest risk of their lives, just to find a girl that she couldn't- Unless she- The whole thing's illogical, but if- Alexsa are you really going to-
Anna, the whole thing's illogical. I'm even going to say because Justin's involved it. Everything else is illogical Alexsa told her intentional avoiding that question, she didn't need Anna to worry either, I mean, really, look at it, a 16 year old cyborg (Whose also a girl- a guy would be better since they tend to be tougher) who has an IQ to make Einstein look like a stupid college student, and she was also shot in the head, or you were the shot in the heart, it depends upon how you look at it, but- but- now, you and her are now living, breathing, up and running again, like nothing had ever happened. And now the two of you are trying find the murderer, not for revenge, but instead, to show love, mercy, forgiveness, even if it kills the two of you again, or worse, there is a worse after all, she likes to be she and not you... That sum it up? Wait- another camera.
Anna giggled at the remark about Justin, it was true after all, but she soon stopped as Alexsa worked to figure out the camera's blind spot, diving behind the corner that she was at as needed, “Shoot!” She muttered annoyed, there's no blind spot! She dived back around the corner as the camera swung around to face her again. She held her right cuff up to her mouth, praying that microphone would work, “Good guy to Bad girl. Good guy to Bad girl. Do you hear me? I repeat, do you hear me, Bad girl?”
Alexsa tensed up as she heard only static in her receiver.
“I read you Good Guy, What'ca ya need?” Anna groaned and Alexsa smirked.
“I need a… ten second time loop,” She looked at the camera again, “No wait make that a 15 second time loop, 'cause that's a really sweet camera,” But then she noticed her mistake, “Scratch order, Bad Girl, it's not predictable,” The Camera would stop for a moment and then take off, sometimes faster and sometimes slower
Yes it is, Alexsa, Anna said a shade disappointed with girl, You'll need 27.36 camera loop. Love you're code words as well by the way, time loop so works.
Sorry I was wrong, Bad girl, I need a 27.36 loop.” Alexsa told Justin, she almost hear his jaw drop in horror. You already said that, Anna, that's why I didn't change it again. “Jusdith,” Alexsa hissed.
Why were you talking about yourself in third person again earlier, Alexsa?
Not now, Anna!
Godfather here, Good boy” Alexsa breathed a sight of relief, “And I'm sorry it's a no can on the time loop, Big Brother saw us, and is now in hot pursuit, We can only send one more short transmission, make it count, Alexsna...” Alexsa groaned and looked around with what she to work with, their was a door but she had absolutely no clue what behind that door, and in the middle of STAB she couldn't even, but then she saw the key.
“Send Anna the schematics for the building, or at lest the vents, Godfather,” Alexsa said as she stared at the ventilation shaft above her.
“Sending. Godfather over and out. Stay safe you hear me, Alexsa, you need to come-” And then they were cut of the rest of the crew. SIDEWALK was out.
You're still in denial??? Anna said in disbelief, Alexsa...Don't tell me that's the only reason we're rescuing her. Alexsa, Josiah killed you. She shot you in the head, and left you in the middle of a parking lot. To rot. Move on. We can still leave and hide and find Ricky again.
No, we can't, Anna, and No, I'm not in denial, not about that anyways. Have you received the schematics yet?
Yes. Get in the vent, I'll lead you from there. This conversation isn't over yet.
Never said it was, Alexsa replied as pulled at the grate, hoping that it wasn't bugged with alarms. It gave a moment later. No alarms that she could tell of anyways. She slowly felt the loss of control she had, as Anna took over her body. She would never get use to feeling, I wish you could just be a backseat driver.
No need to stay in your denial, Alexsa, I'm really in your head, you're really a cyborg, and I'm just an AI program. I've moved on, it's time you did as well.
No, Anna, you're more then just an AI program, you're a friend, and Anna, I'm afraid, and I'm sorry...
I know, but why and because of what? Anna asked she crawled down the shaft turning as needed. It was still a fair distance. They could talk for a while, You haven't done anything... Have you?
Jo, Alexsa muttered. Anna waited for to explain, Think about it, Anna, you can do the same thing as her chip, You're doing it right now.
Anna stopped, How'd you-
You muttered about it in your 'sleep' and- and we do share 'dreams'... You feel that you fail.
Oh... Anna stopped crawling and rubbed her eyes, thinking about what that meant and what Alexsa was really saying, But take control over you- forcefully? Do you really think I would do that?
No... Alexsa replied after a moment, But... you could be reprogrammed or... or even replaced, and then... Alexsa stopped, she knew the blow of she was said had hit Anna. Like I said, Anna, I'm sorry, I am so really sorry...
Why Alexsa? Would you really kill me for Jo? You're not just putting your life on the line,but mine, and by mine you also add your freedom on that very thin line! You're going to kill both of Alexsa!
Yeah...
But why are taking this risk?! For Josiah?!
Alexsa said unnerved at the outburst, was her AI evolving or did she always have this sense of self-preservation? Alexsa had no way of know which it was. Because she's living that already! But she didn't even a choice! No one asked her if she wanted to be a ginny pig for the powers that be. She just was. But she has a Father in Heaven that wants to love her so much, to free her, and she just needs to see Him, to see love... And I can do that. So I am. Got a problem with that, Anna?
No. She was to scared to even think of a problem with it, Alexsa was normally level headed, she had never seen her in this state before, except possible once, but still...
Good 'cause it didn't matter if you did, if I'm going to show to her the awesome love of Jesus. Even if I had to find you as well as Miss. Haltbrook. Even if it kills me... You don't really mind if it kills you as well, do you?
... There's nothing romantic?
Just my love of Jesus that's makes me show His love...
Then not a problem. Anna started her crawling again with that said, afraid of what would happen if Alexsa didn't get to show that love... Alexsa and that love seemed to be like a corked bottle of vinegar and baking soda, ready to explode and show the world it's power of removing that cork.
Thank you, Anna...
Just barely made the deadline... I love this part of the story. =D
Jo's Cry
Okay I felt a touch bad that I had no fiction of any sort on here (That and it goes with tomorrow's Illogical), so I pulled this poem out of my stock of five, polished it a bit and I'm now posting it.
About the poem: The tittle Jo is because it's from my fictional character's point of view about the situation she's in. And since the name's not in the poem itself, it's in the tittle.
It's a prologue of sorts for the scene, Illogical. (Pardon how terrible it is. Hopefully my prose will be better. :) )
Jo
Used and Abused
Mistreated and forgotten
No one knows my pain
I'm forgotten
my pains are unknown
I'm twisted and abused
For many misuse me,
For They don't care about me
They just want to used me
And they do...
I saw hope bestowed to the hopeless
but I was still hopeless
I saw Love given to the most hated
but I was still unloved
I saw Joy show on the faces of the hurt
"But what is Joy?" I ask
I saw Mercy given to Merciless
But I've never felt it.
But then I met Alexsa...
She cared about Me.
Me! Of all people.
She tried to show me
what Mercy was
She tried to show me
what Love was
She tried to show me
what Joy was
But I turned her down...
She didn't know me
She didn't know my many sins
She couldn't understand them...
She didn't know who I was.
But She didn't care...
She knew my words
but still claimed her God would forgive me
Me!
Who would forgive me?
I'm a Liar to the one who never lied to me
I'm the murder of the one who tried to give me life
I'm the one promised to protect her
But I'm the one pulled the trigger
I killed the only one who ever dared to loved me...
And now she's dead...
If only I had a gun to end my own life ...
It would make it so much easier on every one else.
But still I wonder,
If her God
is the one of Miracles,
the one of Love,
For if so,
Why did He let me kill His servant?
And Would He really love me?
A betrayer?
I feel so bad for her. It's no wonder she doesn't talk to me that much. ;D
Deadlines!
Okay, first post *is excited*, and it's going to be... Deadlines...
*Is not as excited*
"Why deadlines?" You ask.
(And if you didn't... Well... Sorry...I... just heard you incorrectly. ;-) )
Because I have stuff to post. But it's all in my notebook. My paper notebook, so it needs to be a typed up. And editing.
So I dead line so every one else can gang up on me when I don't post... So.. I do my typing 'cause well I don't think ganging up on little old me would be all that nice. ;)
Best reasoning you're going to get and hopefully you understood what I just said.
So Here are the deadlines:
Illogical 5/8
The Knight and her broken heart - 5/22
Shield - 5/31
Paladin - 6/7
Sword - 6/14
Lets see how those hold up... They might change a bit... Hopefully they'll show up earlier then said.
And yes, before you ask (Or I mishear :P), I do love medieval stuff, or at lest the stuff dealing with Knights and their shining weapons... =D <===][============>
Edit: Added Illogical.
Edited the dates.
